Marathons

Verse 1:
With every step I make
And every breath I take
Another brick is added on the wall
Each chance sinks farther deeps
Fairytales cannot be reached
Do I have to want it all
Can’t even get back up if I fall

Chorus:
Laying outside in the grass
Sweating tears of my past
Climbing never felt so strong
Never thought to go through
It appears to all be new
Marathons don’t last too long

Verse 2:
The vision in focus blurs
Something steeper at every turn
Seems dreams are only done in vain
This is more than I ever asked
Come to grips I am not fast
Enough to handle my pain
And now there’s nothing I want to gain

Chorus:
Laying outside in the grass
Sweating tears of my past
Climbing never felt so strong
Never thought to go through
It appears to all be new
Marathons don’t last too long

Verse 3:
The first step is always the hardest one
Baby steps until the race is won

Chorus:
Laying outside in the grass
Sweating tears of my past
Climbing never felt so strong
Never thought to go through
It appears to all be new
Marathons don’t last too long
Marathons
Marathons don’t last too long
